Roy Morgan (1935-2024) was an eternal optimist and knew the true meaning of determination. Coming from especially humble beginnings in a small town in Colorado, he found great success in life as an entrepreneur, businessman and pilot. Along the way, Roy in铿倁enced, guided, mentored and coached countless others to be successful in their own right. Of course there were many obstacles along the way, but he always prioritized his relationships with people and was a master at 铿乶ding success against all odds.

Roy inherently knew how to lead. Inspired by a personal experience from his early days as a charter pilot, he founded Air Methods Corporation which became the largest air medical transport provider in the United States. Roy鈥檚 鈥榥ever give up鈥� attitude resulted in the creation of a company that has been responsible for transporting over 2 million patients since its inception in 1980. Instead of bringing the patient to the emergency room, Roy believed in bringing the emergency room to the patient by equipping medical aircraft with the latest life-saving technologies and a highly-skilled team. He never compromised on safety and always made patient care his top priority.

鈥淗ire good people and listen to them.鈥� This was Roy鈥檚 golden rule for success. He had a rare talent for surrounding himself with those who would challenge him and contribute to the success of a project. Those who worked with Roy re铿俥ct on how he led by example and wasn鈥檛 afraid to get his hands dirty to ensure a job got done right. His never-ending positive attitude and kindness inspired others to achieve more than they ever thought possible.

Roy graduated from Metropolitan State 海角直播 of Denver with a degree in Aviation Management at the age of 44. He knew the value of a college education and that it was never too late to learn new skills. In addition to being a Metro State graduate, Roy was also recognized as a Living Legend in Aviation, inducted into the Colorado Aviation Hall of Fame and received many other awards for his contributions to aviation.

Roy created his own success despite starting with virtually nothing. He did so by maintaining optimism and by caring for the people who surrounded him. The Roy Morgan Memorial Endowment was created to inspire the next generation of aviation professionals to dream big and to never let their past dictate their future.
