Using your Veteran education benefits or military tuition assistance for theÌýfirst time?
This quick checklist is for those using Veteran Education Benefits for the first time. For more general information and details, see the Veteran Education Benefits page.
Apply for Education Benefits throughÌý to activate your educational benefits with the VA.

This will be gone over in the Veteran and Military Student orientation. Sign up here. Additionally, sign up and take placement testing.

Certification RequestThis form is only for students using Post 9/11. VR&E recipients should complete the appropriate form with the Veteran & Military Student Services Office. The purpose of the financial aid release form is to request an advance refund of Federal Financial Aid so you do not have to wait for VA to pay your tuition and fees. It is not to request an advance on VA education benefits.
This form is only for students using VR&E Ch 31. Post 9/11 recipients should complete the appropriate form with the Veteran & Military Student Services Office. The purpose of the financial aid release form is to request an advance refund of Federal Financial Aid so you do not have to wait for VA to pay your tuition and fees. Securely share your important documents with Veteran & Military Student Services by clicking on the Liquid files link below. Documents could include DD214 for all military students and Veterans Name & SSN information for all Ch 35 students.
If you have applied for Ch 35 and received your Certification of Eligibility; you do not need to fill this out. Otherwise complete the form with Veteran’s Name and SSN, do not give your SSN. It’s required of you to provide this through a Liquid Files secure form. This is only required if this is your first time using benefits at º£½ÇÖ±²¥ Denver.
