Students whose immigration circumstances may impact financial aid, registration, advising, insurance requirements, or academic standing. We know that policies can feel confusing, forms can be overwhelming, and accessing resources isn鈥檛 always straightforward. You don鈥檛 have to figure it out alone.
Guidance on Forms and Appeals
Some forms and processes can feel confusing鈥�appeals, petitions, corrections鈥� what do they all mean? Our team is here to guide you through any form or appeal process, including but not limited to:
- Submitting your CASFA or FAFSA, or making corrections to your application
- Financial aid forms, petitions, and appeals
- Major declarations or change鈥憃f鈥憁ajor requests
- In鈥憇tate tuition corrections and petitions for in鈥憇tate residency
Financial Aid Reviews

We make sure you鈥檙e receiving every financial aid opportunity available while keeping your tuition bill as low as possible. We do this by:
- Ensuring you receive every grant you qualify for 鈥� federal, state, and institutional. If we notice something missing, we will advocate on your behalf.
- Advising you on scholarships you should be applying for, based on your situation, eligibility, and goals.
- Reviewing your tuition bill with you to make sure you鈥檙e not overpaying and that all charges are accurate.
We will help you maximize your aid and minimize your costs with clarity and confidence.
The Health Insurance Requirement
海角直播 Denver Insurance Requirment
海角直播 Denver students taking nine (9) or more credit hours in the Fall or Spring are required to have health insurance that complies with the university requirement.
For many immigrants, finding an affordable plan that meets university requirements can be challenging. Our office is here to help you stay compliant with the insurance policy. We can:
- Assist you with completing the insurance waiver
- Connect you with community resources to explore insurance options
- Some students may qualify for insurance exceptions on a case-by-case basis
If you do not have health insurance and need help opting out of the university insurance plan, please schedule an appointment for guidance on how you can still stay compliant.
Registration Guidance
While we鈥檙e not academic advisors, we can still help you navigate the registration process such as:
Go over your degree progress report
Show you how to find, register and/or drop classes
Schedule an advising appointment
Verify any registration holds, and help you resolve them
Legal Info Sessions
Open to all Auraria campus students, faculty, and staff, this service provides a space to ask questions about immigration laws, policies, and practices. Participants can meet with an immigration attorney via Zoom and learn more about their rights and available options through private, 30鈥憁inute sessions that are completely free and confidential.
