Biography

Cody Mejia serves as the Recruitment & Retention Coordinator for the Department of Nutrition at Metropolitan State University of Denver. In this role, he leads initiatives that support recruitment, engagement, and retention while advancing the department’s visibility through strategic communications and marketing efforts. He develops and implements outreach strategies, events, scholarship initiatives, and marketing campaigns designed to strengthen enrollment growth and student success. He collaborates closely with faculty, staff, and community partners to create meaningful opportunities that support individual achievement and organizational goals.

 

Prior to his current role, Cody gained experience in program coordination through his work with the Center for Multicultural Engagement and Inclusion (CMEI) at º£½ÇÖ±²¥ Denver. There, he helped plan and execute campus-wide programs and events designed to foster connection, belonging, and community engagement. These experiences strengthened his commitment to building inclusive environments and developing programs that create positive and lasting impact.

In addition to his recruitment and retention efforts, Cody leads several programs focused on mentorship, academic support, and professional development. He oversees tutoring, scholarship, and mentoring initiatives while supporting the Graduate Teaching Assistants and Graduate Research Assistants program. Through his work, he is committed to developing innovative programs, fostering meaningful partnerships, and creating pathways that support long-term success.
