Ready to find out what º£½ÇÖ±²¥ Denver can do for you? We’ve got you covered.
The EmpowerPsych First-Gen Collaborative Community is an online space designed specifically for Psychology (PSY) and Human Development & Family Studies (HDFS) students who are the first in their families to attend college
While º£½ÇÖ±²¥ Denver offers a larger First-Generation Student community, which you’ve probably received emails and other communications from, EmpowerPsych provides a smaller, more personalized network focused on the unique experiences, opportunities, and resources relevant specifically to PSY and HDFS majors. Our community is hosted online through Canvas, making it easy to connect with peers, access resources, and stay informed. We do work collaboratively with º£½ÇÖ±²¥â€™s Fist Gen Initiatives group as well.
Throughout the year, we also organize optional in-person meetups and attend campus events together to help strengthen connections and build community.
Our mission is to create a supportive and inclusive space where first-generation PSY and HDFS students can connect, thrive academically, and find a sense of belonging throughout their college journey.
As a member, you’ll have access to:
Our goal is to foster meaningful relationships within a smaller, close-knit community of students who share common interests and experiences. Whether you’re looking for support, connection, information, or opportunities to get involved, EmpowerPsych is here for you.
Participation is completely flexible. You can engage with the community as often as you’d like, whether that means regularly connecting with others or simply visiting when you need resources or support. There are no requirements or obligations to participate.
We hope you’ll accept our invitation to join the EmpowerPsych First-Gen Collaborative Community and discover the benefits of connecting with peers, learning from shared experiences, and building a strong foundation for success both at º£½ÇÖ±²¥ Denver and beyond.
