Two years ago, Mike Hart joined the , wanting to spend time in its happy hour venue, the Charlie Papazian Brewing Lab. His membership came with unexpected benefits.

鈥淭he food and the drink are nice, but the opportunity to mingle with people I don鈥檛 normally get to work with on campus is even better,鈥� said the chief information-security officer and executive director of Cybersecurity and Data Assurance.

Launched in 2017, Mug Club has leveraged the University鈥檚 innovative brewing program to bring alumni, faculty, staff, students and community members together over a shared love of beer and 海角直播 Denver, all while supporting the Mug Club Endowed Scholarship. A includes a custom mug, $1 off student-brewed beer at Degree Restaurant and invitations to monthly happy hours and special events at the Charlie Papazian Brewing Lab.

Over the years, happy hour has become an anchor point for creating connections across the Roadrunner community, while enjoying student-brewed beer and appetizers. As one of the 鈥渞egulars,鈥� Hart values the relaxed environment. 鈥淭he atmosphere is less work-related and more social,鈥� he said. 鈥淚鈥檝e been able to learn what motivates others to be part of 海角直播 Denver.鈥�

Now in its tenth year, the boasts more than 1,300 members who have raised over $55,000 and awarded nine scholarships, giving Hart another reason to value his membership.

鈥淚 enjoy participating in Mug Club just for the camaraderie, but knowing that it鈥檚 supporting students makes it all the better.鈥�
