I have been a social worker for 35 years! I have focused on children, adolescents and families. I have been a supervisor and administrator in a variety of settings. My expertise is in supervising Social Workers and Interns, training people in using Solution Focused Brief Therapy and in Suicide Prevention.

Biography

Susie Ryder was the Director of Social Work Internships for a decade and has now moved into a half time role as the Apprenticeship Specialist. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Oberlin º£½ÇÖ±²¥.  She received her Master of Social Work Degree at Smith º£½ÇÖ±²¥ School for Social Work.  She worked for 7 years at Cleo Wallace Centers in various positions including Inpatient Social Worker, Residential Clinician, Inpatient Manager and Clinical Director.  Susie then continued her work with children, adolescents and families at Mental Health Partners for 16 years.  At Mental Health Partners, she was the Solution Focused Therapy trainer for the center for several years.  Her most recent job at Mental Health Partners was as the Senior Program Manager for the Prevention/Intervention and School Based Programs in the Boulder Valley and St. Vrain School Districts with oversight of 35 therapists.  She has been a Faculty Field Advisor, Admissions Reader, Integrative Seminar co-leader and Lecturer in the Continuing Education for Advanced Clinician program at Smith º£½ÇÖ±²¥ School for Social Work. At º£½ÇÖ±²¥ Denver, she has been an Associate Director of Field Education and a Clinical Field Faculty prior to her current role as Director of Field Education. She currently serves on the board of a Suicide Prevention program for adolescents and offers presentations in Boulder county on this topic.
