Structure and Timing of Service Incentive

Sponsored faculty who are also going to earn instructional design and media services after each Block will have specific opportunities to earn and use those services.

We鈥檝e done our best to create a system that is flexible for participating faculty, while also spreading out the service work so that our ID Group staff won鈥檛 be overwhelmed by too many requests coming in at the same time.

Completing a Block earns you 10 service tokens with Instructional Design staff and 5 service tokens with Instructional Media staff, which you can spend on a menu of service options. However, if you don’t complete a block in a given window, you cannot earn the associated service tokens.

Complete a Block during the completion window shown, and then schedule services during the corresponding services window:

What are the services I can choose from?

Are all services available in all service windows?

Specific services are unlocked after you complete each Block, and they stay unlocked from then on. For example, if you have just completed Block 2 you can choose from the Block 1 or Block 2 service menus, but the services associated with Block 3 aren鈥檛 available yet.

Can I save up my service tokens to use at a later time?

Sadly, no. CTLD staff have reserved specific blocks of time to offer these services. Once those times have passed, they are gone. Put another way, Block 1 tokens expire at the end of the Block 1 service window.

Below are the service menus associated with each block. Remember that once unlocked, the services are always available, even using tokens from a later block.

You will see that some services have tags:

[Online/Hybrid] – Specifically useful for courses that are partly or entirely online.
