Who We Are
The 海角直播 Denver Women in CyberSecurity (WiCyS) Student Chapter is dedicated to creating a strong, supportive community at Metropolitan State University of Denver that empowers students to thrive in cybersecurity. We strive to foster education, leadership, and meaningful engagement in the field while building a network of students passionate about protecting and innovating in the digital world.
Mission
Our mission is to help close the gender gap in cybersecurity by increasing representation, expanding opportunities, and empowering women to pursue and succeed in cybersecurity careers. Through mentorship, technical skill development, professional networking, industry partnerships, campus collaboration, and hands-on learning experiences, we prepare our members to confidently enter, contribute to, and lead the cybersecurity workforce. Together, we cultivate an environment where every member feels supported, valued, and inspired to make a lasting impact in the field.
Goals
Our goals include closing the gender gap in cybersecurity by increasing representation and opportunity, providing access to mentorship, technical development, and professional networking, and actively encouraging women to pursue and succeed in cybersecurity careers. Through collaboration with industry partners, campus initiatives, and hands-on learning experiences, we aim to prepare our members to confidently enter and lead in the cybersecurity workforce.

Event Details: Test your technical skills, solve security puzzles, and learn ethical hacking techniques at the WiCyS Capture the Flag (CTF) challenge! Participants will compete to solve challenges across web exploitation, cryptography, digital forensics, and more.10 winners from this event will be chosen to form the official WiCyS Hacking Team, where you鈥檒l get hands-on training to learn how to CTF and compete in various cybersecurity competitions! No prior experience required鈥攎entors will be on hand to help beginners get started. Bring your laptop and join us for a fun, competitive hands-on experience!
