Contact UsThe Faculty Accompanying Students (FAS) Grant provides financial support to faculty members accompanying students to a professional conference or other professional event (e.g. competition, research site to collect data, etc.).鈥�
Each year, the Provost’s Office earmarks funding for the program which may be used by all faculty (including part-time) to cover their transportation, registration, and lodging expenses, when accompanying students to a qualifying conference or event.鈥�
The maximum award is $1,000 per faculty member per academic year (only one faculty member per conference from each department may be approved) and funds will be awarded until the annual funding for the is exhausted.听
NOTE: Faculty members must maintain appropriate professional boundaries during university-supported travel and activities and may not share overnight accommodations with students including hotel rooms, dormitory rooms, or short-term rental properties, even when separate bedrooms are available. Exceptions may be approved only in extraordinary circumstances.

Preference will be given to faculty who apply six听weeks in advance of the qualifying conference or event.听 There is no limit as to how early a faculty member may apply if the conference/event is within the same fiscal year.听
To apply, faculty members can be part-time or full-time and must comply with 迟丑别鈥�.听
Faculty are expected to share outcomes and/or “lessons learned” from experience with departmental or other faculty groups.
Yes, students must have secured their funding at the time of the faculty member鈥檚 application or at a minimum have started the process for securing funding.鈥�
